Week 43: Payout

Transfer Calls Tomorrow!

Next email I will probably be in a new place with a new companion.

Short Version of Email: A couple of good lessons this week. Zone conference. Karaoke night and doing some more service. The weather here is so nice, it is wonderful.

Finnish Word of the Week:   Pesukarhu = raccoon but literally translates to "wash bear”

Daylight Counter!

Where we started–4 Hours 40 minutes

This week–20 Hours 54 minutes

5 Amazing Things This Week:

1:  Zone Conference!! So spiritual, so many friends, so much fun. It was the recharge I needed.

2: We had 5 lessons this week which doesn't sound like a lot, but for Finland it is. It was wonderful. I'm so grateful for how blessed we are after weeks of hard work.

3:  We had a karaoke night, which was super fun. Lots of fun people came and it helped people get more familiar with the church.

4:  We got to do a cool new service project by helping to teach an English discussion group. It was so nice to teach in a language I actually know.

5:  Had “Family Dinner” with all the missionaries here on Sunday. It was so lovely and a good way to end the transfer.

Tender Mercy of the Week:

We have not had much success this transfer, which has been hard. I'm not sure what happened this week but everything just lined up perfectly. It was filled with so many good interactions with people, lessons, and finding new interested people. This whole week was a miracle and I'm so grateful for it.

Where I am/Who I'm With: I am serving in Tampere. My companion is Elder Salisbury.

Scripture of the Week:

Doctrine & Covenants 93:12-13

12 And I, John, saw that he received not of the fulness at the first, but received grace for grace;

13 And he received not of the fulness at first, but continued from grace to grace until he received a fulness;

My thoughts:  We talked about this at Zone Conference. We move “grace for grace”, little by little, as we learn, experience, and grow. All things have their time.

Talk of the Week:

An Educated Conscience.    Stephen R. Covey

My Thoughts

This talk has so much in it. I honestly need to go back and listen to it again. I like how it makes the Holy Ghost easier to understand.

See you next week!
