Week 57: Do His Will
Hello! It's been really cold this week.
I miss fall. Send me some pictures of the leaves please! The Equinox was this week as well. It is now officially more dark than light.
Spiritual Thought:
I like this verse.
John 7:17 “If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.”
Doing the Father's will is the best way to learn about Jesus Christ and his doctrine. Actions are so important.
As missionaries, we give invitations to our friends to help them have opportunities to find truth for themselves and learn doctrine.
I have been working on striving to apply more from what I learn instead of just listening passively. I like this verse because it is a good reminder that action is the best way to learn.
Short Version of Email: Splits with the AP's, a lot of finding, visited some members, and gave them the sacrament. Pretty normal week.
Finnish Word of the Week: “Ojanvarsi” means “the edge of a ditch” but literally translates to “ditch arm”
5 Amazing Things This Week:
1: The AP's came to Kouvola for splits, and it was amazing. I got so much inspiration for the type of missionary I want to be from them. We packed the day full of lessons and finding and saw so many miracles.
2: District P-Day was this week. We went bowling and to a fun restaurant for lunch. So much fun to spend time with other missionaries
3: We drove to a small city in our area to drop off some berries to some older members. Spending some time with them was awesome. I told them it was my birthday next week, and the man gave me a really cool collectible coin as an early birthday present.
4: We had to drop off our car for a whole day, which meant we were walking everywhere. It was great, but we walked a lot. Probably about 4 or 5 hours.
5: I played a musical number on Sunday. Hooray.
Tender Mercy of the Week:
When we went and visited older members this week, we had the opportunity to give them the sacrament. They had never been given the sacrament in their home before, and it was such a special experience. They only make it to church about every 3 months because it is such a journey, and they are old and have no car. I was really grateful for the Spirit we felt there.
Where I am/Who I'm With: I am serving in Kouvola. My companion is Elder Redd.
Fun Facts about Elder Redd
He hates pineapple on pizza
He thinks nuts in chocolate are gross (I agree)
He doesn't like sushi, but he does like other seafood
Scripture of the Week:
Ezekiel 36:26
26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.
My thoughts: I like this verse lots. Jesus changes people and can give us a new heart. Cool imagery.
Talk of the Week:
Who's on the Lord's Side? Now is the Time to Show

My Thoughts:
I liked the thoughts about challenges and trials in our lives. And cool examples from Zion's camp.
Miss you lots, send me an email if you so desire!
