Week 68-69: Return and Recieve
Hi! Hope you had a lovely week!
Spiritual Thought:
This was a really cool talk.
Return and Receive
Being on my mission, I've realized how important goals and plans are in all aspects of my life.
This was a good talk about that.

Short Version of Email: Some good lessons, fun dinners. Finnish Independence Day.
Finnish Word of the Week: “Maksaa mansikoita” means something is expensive, but literally translates to “cost strawberries.”
5 Amazing Things This Week:
1: We had 2 dinners with members this week. The first was with a young single returned missionary, so chill. He is awesome, and we talked about so many good things. The second was with Bishop and his family. They are amazing. Their kids are so well behaved, there was wonderful food, and their house is beautiful and felt like home.
2: Some of our recent converts are preparing to go to the temple, and so we have been teaching them about family history, which has been fun. It's not something I often get to teach about.
3: We had exchanges, and it was lovely. We put two people on baptismal date, got some really good food, and someone even drew a self-portrait of me.
4: Another highlight this week was having our recent converts come help us teach on lessons. They are so awesome, and their testimonies are so inspiring. One of our recent converts even let me audio record her conversion story. I think it's something I will treasure forever.
5: Finnish Independence Day was this week. Being in Helsinki is such a blessing. We got to see a cool ceremony outside this giant cathedral around all the Christmas markets. It was awesome.
Tender Mercy of the Week:
We had a member come to a lesson to translate because one of our friends only speaks French. But he came an hour late. This wouldn't have been a problem, but we had another lesson right after the French lesson. By the time the French-speaking friend came, we were already in the other lesson. So we had the member (who is also our new convert of 1 month) give our friend a church tour and teach him the first lesson. He did amazing. After he testified about baptism to the friend we were teaching, that made the friend we were teaching want to get baptized. We couldn't do it without members. Anyone can be a missionary. Even if you have only been a member for a month!

Scripture of the Week:
Alma 32:39
39 Now, this is not because the seed was not good, neither is it because the fruit thereof would not be desirable; but it is because your ground is barren, and ye will not nourish the tree, therefore ye cannot have the fruit thereof.
My thoughts: The longer I'm on a mission, the more I realize how important controlling context (or our ground) is. This will grow our testimony and help our faith so that our ground does not become barren. Controlling context and controlling routines does much to ensure the relationship we have with the Savior.

My Thoughts:
These were interesting. Not really sure what else to say besides that.
Miss you lots; send me an email if you so desire!
