Week 73: Crowned with Blessings
A good first week of the year!
Spiritual Thought:
I'm 3/4ths of the way through highlighting every name of Christ, God, and the Holy Ghost and their pronouns in the Book of Mormon.
That book is becoming one of my prized possessions. Few things have strengthened my testimony as much as realizing how strongly the scriptures point to Jesus Christ.
That Christ is literally on every page.
14 And behold, this is the whole meaning of the law, every whit pointing to that great and last sacrifice; and that great and last sacrifice will be the Son of God, yea, infinite and eternal. Alma 34:14
It has been cool to see this scripture fulfilled, that all the scriptures point to Jesus Christ.
Short Version of Email: Helsinki pdays, taught good lessons, went sledding!
Finnish Word of the Week: “Viedä saunan taakse” Is used with anger, Finns offering to fight, but literally translates to "take you behind the sauna”
5 Amazing Things This Week:
1: We had Pday with all the trainers who stayed in Helsinki after transfer day. It was fun to see them and see Helsinki. We walked around and it was super cold.
2: New Year's Eve was really fun. We went and visited a missionary’s family who came to Finland and picked her up. It was fun to meet her family and hang out together. That night we went to a concert in the city center, saw some fireworks from the top of a building, and went to bed nice and early. Crazy, it's 2026
3: The highlight of the week for me was how many good first lessons we taught. We met a lot of new people who want to improve their lives through Jesus Christ.
4: Sunday was great besides that we had no friends in church. We invited so many people but sometimes I don't blame them for not wanting to come when it's 0 degrees F. We went to a members house after and played games, went sledding, and drank hot cocoa. Fun times
5: The start of a new transfer is something I always look forward to. Getting a complete and total reset, setting new goals and living with someone new every 9 weeks is such a unique experience. It's easy to focus on specific goals when they are broken down into 9 week segments.
Tender Mercy of the Week:
We had no lessons cancel this week which is so amazing. That never ever happens.
Where I am/Who I'm With: I am serving in Helsinki. My companion is Elder Török.
Scripture of the Week:
Doctrine and Covenants 59:4
4 And they shall also be crowned with blessings from above, yea, and with commandments not a few, and with revelations in their time—they that are faithful and diligent before me.
My thoughts: I learned this week that when the Doctrine and Covenants was written, commandments also could mean revelation which gives this verse a whole new meaning.
Talk of the Week:

My Thoughts:
A good talk about diligence, sometimes we must do all we can and then the Lord does the rest.
Miss you lots; send me an email if you so desire!
